Meetings
Civil Service meetings are scheduled to take place at 5:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. We will make every effort to update this page promptly in the event of any cancellations.

All members of the public are welcome to attend! Meetings are currently being held via Teams. The ongoing teams link to join virtual meetings is below:
The City Council, as well as any board or commission of the city that accepts public comments, accept oral public comments only from in-person meeting attendees. Further, the city will take public comments in writing and provide those comments to the City Council or the applicable board/commission following receipt. Written comments will not be read aloud at the Council meeting or the applicable board/commission but will be part of the meeting record.

Commission Overview
The Duvall Civil Service Commission is made up of 3 members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Civil Service Commissioners are volunteers and serve a 6-year term. The purpose of the Civil Service Commission is to assure that police officers are recruited through open competition, are hired and promoted based on merit, and are demoted, suspended, or discharged for cause.
