Guidelines for Submitting Events for Promotion
Community groups and non-profits can request to have their events featured on the City of Duvall’s official social media channels and printed newsletter. To ensure submissions align with the city’s values and communication goals, we have established criteria and rules for all requests.
Criteria for Event Sharing
- Community Relevance
- Events must be directly related to the Duvall community, with a focus on local impact.
- Submissions should align with the interests, values, and needs of the Duvall community.
- Non-Profit and Community Focus
- Priority will be given to non-profit organizations and community groups hosting free and public events.
- For-profit events or those with commercial intent are generally not considered unless they sponsor a community-oriented event.
- Clear Event Information
- Event details must include the name, date, time, location, and a concise description.
- Graphics must be high-quality, free of copyrighted material, and appropriately branded.
- Alignment with City Values
- Events must support the City of Duvall’s mission, vision, and values, such as promoting tourism, economic development, or positive community engagement.
- Events with political or religious agendas require approval from the City Administrator.
Rules for Submission
- Submission Process
- Submit requests at least two weeks before the desired posting date for review and scheduling.
- Use the official request form on the City of Duvall’s website, providing all required information.
- Content Standards
- Content must be suitable for a general audience, without offensive language, discriminatory statements, or graphic imagery.
- The City of Duvall reserves the right to edit or decline content that does not meet these standards.
- Frequency and Timing
- Each organization can promote up to two events per month to maintain balance in city communications.
- The city will determine the optimal posting time for each event to align with its overall communication schedule.
- Legal and Liability Requirements
- Organizations must have necessary permits and approvals for their events.
- By submitting, organizations agree to hold the City of Duvall harmless from any claims related to the event or its promotion.
- Non-Endorsement Statement
- Each post or newsletter entry can include a disclaimer stating that the City of Duvall does not endorse the organization or its events and is sharing the information as a public service.
These guidelines help the City of Duvall maintain a consistent, community-focused approach to event promotion, ensuring that our communication channels reflect our commitment to the community and its values.
