R.A.D. - Women's Self Defense Course

If you are ready to become more self-confident, and if you want to be prepared to defend yourself if needed, the Duvall Police Department now offers the nationally recognized women’s self-defense course - R.A.D., or Rape Aggression Defense.

Defensive Concepts & Techniques

The R.A.D. System is a detailed and comprehensive course for women that begins with crime prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance while progressing on to the basics of self-defense.

This program is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, but utilizing easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics.

  • What to Bring: Athletic attire is recommended; sweatpants and cross training type running shoes that provide lateral support are preferred

About the Instructors

Shelley Rowe, has been involved in this program since 2008, after getting nationally certified by R.A.D. Systems through a course taught at the University of Iowa. She has taught hundreds of students thus far and the number is continuing to grow. Read more about Shelley Rowe.
